Mike Cork

I live in Benton Louisiana, just North of Shreveport/Bossier City, and home to the Red River. Born September 1968, and married for 24 years to my lovely wife Laurie, who is just as passionate as I am about bass fishing. We have 3 daughters that have ventured out on their own in life who have given us a total of 6 adorable grandchildren. I am fortunate to be able to fish 4-5 days a week 12 months a year and will fish 30-35 tournaments a year. My hobbies include efforts to preserve the exciting sport of bass fishing and its environment. I am a member of the Twin Cities Team Club, American Bass Anglers, B.A.S.S., Media Bass and Bass Life Associates of NW Louisiana. Bass fishing has been a way of life for me since I was old enough to hold a fishing rod. My father is a remarkably accomplished bass fisherman, and I was fortunate to follow in his footsteps and learn from him. By the time I was old enough to drive I was fishing at the circuit level. After a break in fishing due to my military career and with the help of my wife, we started Ultimate Bass, a team tournament trail. We managed two divisions that fished each once a month. Ultimate Bass eventually grew into an international bass fishing website.

After 20 years of service I retired from the United States Air Force on 22 Oct 2007. This allows me time with my family and to volunteer with organizations promoting the future of bass fishing. My wife and I own and manage www.ultimatebass.com an international bass fishing website. Ultimate Bass received 6 million page views in 2012. With over 23,000 members and 1.1 million + posts the Ultimate Bass Forum has become very prominent in the Internet bass fishing industry. I currently have 44,681 posts on the forum and am considered an expert on several different fishing techniques offering advice to beginners and tournament anglers alike.

I’m on the Dobyns Rods pro staff, assisting in placing rods in local stores, sales via the Internet and a representative on Ultimate Bass fielding questions on specific rod use. I am also on Monster Fishing Tackle pro staff

I volunteer my time working with Bass Life Associates an organization representing bass fishing and its future. We hold and annual fundraising banquet to generate funds for the NW Louisiana Catch and Release program, area charities, lake side facility improvements and children’s fishing events. I can also be found organizing, conducting and performing Master of Ceremony duties for fund raising tournaments to include the Crew of Centaur annual events; as well as various speaking engagements
